  <Title>Diabetes Awareness Month Begins Today</Title>
  <Tagline>It's about insulin, then small steps to support well being</Tagline>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Diabetes Awareness Month is celebrated in November, where we call attention to a serious health condition that is no laughing matter with its need for monitoring and management, as well as its intersection with disability and mortality.  November includes World Diabetes Day (November 14th) which was created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization to recognize growing concerns about escalating health threats posed by diabetes.     <Title>Starting the new year with accommodations? UPDATE</Title>

          <div class="html-content">Accessibility and<span> Disability Services (ADS) is operating remotely during the physical closure of the UMBC campus for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. Disability accommodation letters remain in effect during this period of telework and essential operations, though work-related questions and concerns may arise about disability-based accommodation. </span><div><br></div><div>Important to note:</div><div><br></div><div>1.   <Title>DisAbility: The Power of Focusing on Ability</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Diagnosed four years ago, Greta Thunberg has not let autism slow her down in her advocacy for people around the world to do their part in slowing down, or indeed ending, climate change.  She has organized student strikes, addressed Swedish Parliament, sailed across the Atlantic on a carbon-neutral sailboat, and most recently spoken in front of the U.S. House of Representatives and the United Nations.  Her ability to raise awareness about acting responsibly to end climate change has been very, very successful.  Additionally, her experience has also demonstrated possibility to others with autism and disability, as representation matters, not just during <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/accessibility/events/60435" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Disability Awareness Month</a>, which starts tomorrow.
