11/22/23 Final GBM of the Semester!
Hello all! We will be having our fourth and final GBM of the semester on November 22nd, from 12-1pm, in SOND 112. We’ll be covering basic PT terminology and abbreviations, and then playing an online interactive game to see how much you know/remember from the presentation! We have a UMBC Pre-PT metal water bottle for the winner.
We will also be sharing the names, locations, and points of contact for various PT businesses in the area who are open/available for shadowing, technicians positions, or internship opportunities. We’ll post a list on our myUMBC page after the meeting, but we will share the best opportunities ONLY at the in person GBM.
We can’t wait to see everyone there, and wishing you the best of luck on your midterms!

Lauren Clay, PhD, MPH, Assoc Prof & Chair, UMBC Dept EHS
Lauren Clay is a disaster scientist and public health researcher. Her
research focuses on individual, household, and community recovery from
disasters. She has studied Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, Harvey, and
Florence, the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, the 2013 Moore, OK tornadoes,
and the Camp Fire among other disasters and public health emergencies.
Her expertise is in disaster disruption to the local food environment
and food insecurity. Currently, she has several studies underway
examining long-term recovery and public health impacts from Hurricane
Katrina, food insecurity following Hurricane Florence and the Camp Fire,
and several studies looking at food access and security during the
COVID-19 pandemic.

Juan was the President of the Pre-PT society for the past year and has recently been admitted to University of Maryland, Eastern Shore for their DPT program.
