For some time now, our E-board has been discussing an event where we can bring together the members of various pre-professional health societies to get to know each other, review interdisciplinary case studies, and have fun. 

We have decided to have a Pre-Professional Health Night on Saturday, May 1st from 7:30-8:30pm on Webex. 

The event will consist of ice breakers, socialization, and health-related activities. We hope to have as many people from as many different societies as possible. The flyer for the event is attached below and the link to RSVP can be found here. As a reminder, we will be having our 6th GBM of the semester tomorrow, April 21st at 12pm on Zoom. We will be hearing advice for applying to pharmacy school and learning more about the different specialties within pharmacy from a current pharmacy student! Happy Monday! We hope you all had a relaxing weekend! Please see below for a few Pre-Pharmacy Society updates and upcoming events :)

1. We have decided to extend the E-Board application for the 2021-2022 school year for anyone who still may be interested. We have created a google form for this, and if interested in running for any position(s), please complete it by this Sunday, April 18th at 11:59PM. https://forms.gle/S43B78bYE27bT1eb6
2. The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Pre-Pharmacy Mentorship Committee (AMPM) is hosting their last event of the semester - which will be a virtual Trivia Night - on Wednesday, April 21st from 6-7pm via Zoom. This will be a night of fun, learning, and connecting with current pharmacy/pre-pharmacy students as you test your knowledge on UMSOP, pharmacy careers, the top 100 drugs, and COVID-19. Also, there will be prizes for the top 3 winners! Please RSVP to the event using this link (https://forms.gle/Q58UtrEbhkjhzrmD6) by Monday April 19, 2021 at 11:59PM. The flyer is also attached below.
3. UMBC's Office for Academic and Pre-Professional Advising is sponsoring an Allied Health Fair on Wednesday, April 21st from 11am-1pm. During the first hour, you will have the opportunity to hear from representatives from different allied health programs. The second hour will consist of breakout rooms where you can speak directly with the representatives and ask questions related to what a competitive applicant might look like, what the job placement rate after graduation is like, etc.  The flyer for this event is attached below and you can click on the link on the flyer to attend the event.

As a reminder, we will be having our 5th GBM of the semester this Wednesday, April 7th at 12pm on Zoom. We will be discussing Fall 2021 registration and pharmacy school prerequisites, while hearing about course recommendations from some upperclassmen! Make sure to come by to hear study tips and the best ways to succeed in various courses as a pre-pharmacy student at UMBC. We hope to see you there!
