Fall 2017 Pre-PA Society Feedback Survey

<Tagline>Please take just a moment of your time to fill this out!</Tagline>

We hope you all got through Finals week, studied hard, and now are ready to relax and enjoy the Winter break. Congratulations to all those who graduated and we hope that you will keep in touch and continue partnering with the UMBC Pre-PA society.

Thanks to all of you for your membership to the society this semester. It had come such a long way thanks to all of your continued participation and help! As a student based organization, it is our goal to make sure you feel like the Pre-PA society holds stimulating, informational meetings, and that you feel a sense of personal involvement with your other Pre-PA classmates and colleagues.

Last semester we asked that you take just a few minutes to fill out a feedback survey about the Pre-PA society. This feedback survey is completely anonymous and not mandated by the university but something we have created so that we can best provide you with what you are looking for during our meetings or events. Your feedback is genuinely valuable and just taking a few minutes to fill this out will help us extensively! You will find it here as well as on our myUMBC group page:

https://goo.gl/forms/163VzDEBTOVb4qwX2

Have a wonderful break and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have over the break! Looking forward to seeing you all next semester as we already have many speakers booked. (If you know any PAs that would be willing to speak let us know!)

*If you have asked to be added to the Pre-PA GroupMe and still have not, please email with your number again or text me your name.

EHS Graduate Seminar 11/15/2017

    <Tagline>Needed legal/safety protection for refugee women & children</Tagline>

SPEAKER: Noor Abdel Rahman, Kara Buckmaster, Taylor Lutich
TOPIC: Women and children protection after disasters and mass migrations.

Wednesday, November 15, 2017
Sherman Hall, Room 305, A Wing

This EHS grad seminar is a special one, covering a
really important topic: the need for legal and safety protection for refugee
women and children. As you probably know, there are scores of large refugee
camps in different parts of the world, and, all too often, women and children
are abused or worse, either in the camps or on their way to the camps. We are
even seeing some of this here in the States, in the commercially staffed
refugee detention centers on contract to ICE.

If you look at the refugee camps
in Turkey, Lebanon, Hungary, Libya, Central African Republic, etc, human rights
abuses against women and children are rampant. So, come and learn
from our own students (Noor Abdel Rahman, Taylor Lutich, and Kara Buckmaster)
about this important issue dogging the world's attempts to provide emergency
health and humanitarian services for refugees in disparate parts of the world.
Non-EMS students and faculty are welcome to attend.

methods in emergency preparedness and response decisions...which is one of the
most powerful tools for breaking away from the old "well, we always did it
