Hello everyone, thank you to those who were able to come to our first GBM of the semester! For those unable to attend, we hope to see you at our next meeting in March.

Our Pre-Allied Health Social is on February 26th, 6-8pm in the Commons Skylight Lounge! Everyone is welcome, and there will be tons of free food, games, and prizes from five of UMBC's Pre-Allied Health Societies. Attendance at the Social will also count towards earning your graduation cord! (See slides for details.)

For anyone who wants to go through future course planning one-on-one with a member of our E-board, please don't hesitate to message us on GroupMe. Remember, DPT program applications open a year in advance, so plan ahead and plan early!

Welcome back to the Spring 2025 semester! We can't wait to catch up with everyone at our GBM on Monday, 2/10/25, 12-1pm in SOND 112. To kick things off, we have a fun game planned (with a prize!). We'll spend the rest of the time helping you plan your individual course schedule for the next few semesters, making sure you're on track to completing DPT program requirements. Hope to see everyone there!

Involvement Fest is held at the RAC this Tuesday and we will be there in the afternoon session (1:30-3:30pm). Come say hi and speak to our officers!

I just wanted to notify you guys about a google form we sent out, through email to see what day you all prefer for our GBMs next semester. Optionally, if anyone is interested in shadowing current e-board members, you can state your interest on that form as well. The form will be open until January 12th.

Have you ever wanted to learn CPR, Basic First Aid, or how to use an AED? Are you part of a department or club/student organization and want to feel prepared for any emergency? 

Now is your chance!

The Emergency and Disaster Health Systems (EDHS) and the Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) departments are now offering training in these skills. Participants will complete the coursework online and then attend a one-day hands-on, skills training and testing class.

This is a Hybrid AHA CPR course for Community members. There are costs associated with each part of the training course.

Total Cost of Training: $66.00

PART 1 is online and students must purchase the training portion using this link: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartsaver-first-aid-cpr-aed-online

PART 2 is the in-person skills testing where students will participate in the hands on training and testing. The cost of this portion will be $45 made payable by check to UMBC OR cash only. (This MUST be submitted at the time of the skills training & testing session)

We're going to try and have one last meeting in December to go over PTCAS and the GRE, but we will keep you updated. Remember, we are keeping track of attendance so members can earn their graduation cords! We often mention information during the meetings that are not on the slides, so it's the most beneficial for you to come drop by in person. You also have the chance to meet fellow students on the Pre-PT track!
