          <div class="html-content"><p>Are you involved in an artificial intelligence related activity, project, or program at UMBC? Organizing a lecture or lecture series? Running workshops or training sessions? Have a research initiative? Using AI in your operations that have external visibility? </p><h4>Help us know what's happening</h4><p>As a requirement of the Maryland AI Act (SB 818 of 2024), the State and University System of Maryland may require UMBC to be aware of all artificial intelligence uses, programs, projects, and their associated risks. Help us stay ahead of the regulatory curve in the quickly evolving intersection of artificial intelligence and higher education. </p><p>Email <a href="mailto:joshi@umbc.edu" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Anupam Joshi</a>, UMBC's chief AI officer, and copy to <a href="mailto:kpokorny@umbc.edu" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Kyle Pokorny</a> with a brief description of your AI use that is not a research project. </p><p><br></p><p><img src="https://ai.umbc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/734/2025/10/UMBC-AI-lockup-2b-for-use-on-light-backgrounds.png" alt="UMBC Artificial Intelligence Logo for use on a light background." style="max-width: 100%; height: auto;"></p><h4>UMBC AI Logo</h4><p>The university's artificial intelligence working group, in coordination with University Communications and Marketing, has created an <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/provost/files/13999" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><strong>Artificial Intelligence at UMBC logo</strong></a> that should be used on all projects and programs moving forward. The goal is to create a common identity across UMBC's myriad AI efforts.</p><p>The dedicated logos can be downloaded from the files section of the my.UMBC <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/provost/files/13999" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Provost Group</a>.</p><p>For questions concerning the use of the logos or to add your project or program to the university's official list of artificial intelligence efforts, please email <a href="mailto:joshi@umbc.edu" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Anupam Joshi</a>, UMBC's chief AI officer, with a copy to <a href="mailto:kpokorny@umbc.edu" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Kyle Pokorny</a>. </p></div>
