The Big Damn Fitness Thread
Lose fat! Gain muscle! Increase endurance!

So I've come to an unfortunate realization about myself during my forum hiatus.
I'm fat.
But as an entrepreneur and non-fatalist, I've decided to take my fitness into my own hands and hope the rest of us can do the same.
I was going to write a whole long thing about the science of weight loss but let’s be honest, fat people know how to lose weight. We just haven’t ever gotten around to it. So now we’re going to! Why? Because 2013 is your year! This year you are going to have to buy new pants because your old ones fell down while you were walking! You are going to fit into the clothes that you used to wear and then you’re going to have to give those away because now they are too big! Maybe you will also climb mountains and hike forests and swim lakes and bike trails and run with all of the dogs! Because you’ll be able to do all of that!
It's common knowledge that people are more effective at weight loss in groups, so I plan to get as many involved as possible.
Are you in? Sign up for MyFitnessPal and Fitocracy then post a reply with your starting weight, your mfp and fitocracy account info (it’s best to use those two so we can all friend each other and but if you want to use other places too that’s cool (also if you have a FitBit or you use Nike+ or what ever you use!)) and a general sketch of your plan.
We can also use this thread to look for workout partners. Just post your availability and we can get some partners/groups going.
So do the right thing and take steps to a better tomorrow. As an American.
