This month's ASME Baltimore event is a tour of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab's Biomechanics test facility. Join us for a tour of the 5,000 square foot facility that houses a modular six-inch shock tube, VIA deceleration crash sled system, highrate Instron servo-hydraulic test system, impact pendulum, drop test system, phantom highspeed digital video cameras, and a 128-channel TDAS-Pro data acquisition system. A family of anthropomorphic dummies is also available in this facility, with a wide assortment of load cells, accelerometers, and other sensors to measure the response of the whole body to a variety of impact conditions. High-speed digital video cameras and associated software enable dynamic 3D motion analysis.
Attendees must be US Citizens at least 14 years of age and bring a photo ID. Closed toe low-heeled shoes are required and cameras are not permitted.
