EBF Webinar: Immersive Media – Forward to the Future.

Immersive media is very much like 5G – the art is in the definition. It is more than VR headsets and 3D. It is also descriptive of our increasingly mediated society and lifestyles in entertainment, social interaction and professions. Designing for media experiences will accommodate increasingly mobile, integrated and networked systems. Interaction with content. 360 degree video and images. Mobile 360. Virtual reality (VR). Augmented reality (AR). Mixed reality (MR) and its cousin extreme reality (XR). Wearables. 4K and 8K holographic images. We find immersive media in theme parks, museums, arenas, events, schools – in the fields of entertainment, gaming, sports, healthcare, education and automotive. We will introduce this innovative, rapidly evolving field through the experiences of those who are living it – together with the journeys they have taken that now define their careers.
