From Campus to Cloud & Software Engineering
Thursday, May 7, 2026 · 2 - 3:30 PM
Curious about how students like you turned classroom learning into real-world tech careers? Wondering what it actually takes to land internships, full-time roles, or break into cloud and software engineering? Join us for an engaging Alumni Tech Career Panel where UMBC graduates share their real journeys from campus to industry and the lessons they learned along the way.
This session features UMBC alumni currently working across Cloud Computing and Software Engineering, offering an inside look at how they navigated recruiting, built the right skills, and transitioned from student life to professional tech roles. You’ll hear honest insights on what worked, what didn’t, and what they wish they had known earlier in their college careers.
The discussion will cover both internship and full-time recruiting, including resume and LinkedIn optimization, impactful projects to build, and how to stand out in competitive tech hiring pipelines. Alumni will also share what day-to-day work looks like in roles such as Solutions Architecture and Software Development, helping you better understand different career paths within tech.
