Facilities Management is scheduling repairs, maintenance and testing for various systems during the few days immediately following commencement, prior to summer classes beginning on 30 May.
Transformer repairs will be conducted 25-26 May.
Buildings that will require power outages for oil testing and repairs are:
Chemistry - transformer repair
We are working with the contractors that will perform the testing and repairs to clarify the specific day and duration of the power outage required for each building and I will send another email once we sort this out. We anticipate the power outages for each building lasting from 1-3 hours depending on the repairs necessary.
Chemistry will also have its transfer switch rebuilt on 25 and 26 May. This work does not require an outage for the work to be performed, but may require a brief interruption after the transfer switch is rebuilt to test its operation.
