Every space and every tradition at UMBC has a story. Many of these stories include students as founders, creators, advocates: people who had a vision and saw it through. In this video, we tell the stories of past UMBC students who were instrumental in shaping campus programs, spaces, and traditions. These stories include the origins of:
- The Homecoming Bonfire, featuring Thomas Locastro.
- The Garden, featuring Jack Neumeier, Julianna Brightman, Kelsey Donlan, and Andres Camacho.
- Retriever Essentials, featuring Deveraux Smith.
- OCA Mocha, featuring Michael Berardi and Deep Patel.
- The Stay Black and Gold Fund, featuring Yasmin Karimian.
At UMBC, students are co-creators, and their contributions truly matter. What will your story be? How will you co-create UMBC?
