          <div class="html-content"><div>In Winter and Spring 2023, <a href="https://professionalprograms.umbc.edu/community-leadership/skills-courses/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Community Leadership will offer 4 Skills Courses</a> -- Digital Storytelling, Asset-Based Community Development, Restorative Practices, and Social Justice Leadership and Dialogue. <span>Each course offers the chance to take a deep dive into a specific community leadership skill with subject-matter experts.  </span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>The Digital Storytelling Course will take place over three full days in January (1/9-1/11) while the other courses will meet once a week, on Wednesday evenings, for 5 weeks in the Spring Semester.  </span></div><div><br></div><div>Graduate students enrolled at UMBC will receive one credit for each completed course.  Ongoing learners (within or outside UMBC) can take the courses for personal growth and professional development -- no graduate school enrollment required! </div><div><span><strong><br></strong></span></div><div><span><strong>Learn more and meet the course instructors at an online <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2023-skills-courses-virtual-info-session-tickets-440538802417" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Skills Course Info Session on 10/27 </a>from 12:00 to 1:00pm.</strong>  </span></div></div>

  <Title>September 3rd -- Balt By Balt at the Inner Harbor</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div><div><span>Join us down at the Harbor this weekend!</span></div><div><br></div><div>We’re excited for the upcoming<a href="https://waterfrontpartnership.org/post/performers-announced-for-aug-6th-bxb" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"> </a><a href="https://waterfrontpartnership.org/do/baltimore-by-baltimore-big-fred" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Baltimore by Baltimore festival on Saturday, September 3rd from 12pm-8pm (link)</a>   This month’s BxB will have a <strong>special focus on supporting our young creatives in Baltimore</strong>.  The Five Pillars of Hip Hop theme will feature amazing local talent, makers, and entrepreneurs brought to us by Media Rhythm Institute. This will be the 4th event in our 6 month festival series and it is exactly the kind of creative, inclusive, locally-sourced celebration of homegrown Baltimore talent and culture that we hoped for in <a href="https://peaceworker.umbc.edu/files/2022/05/Reimagining-the-Harbor-as-a-Hub-FINAL-with-blank-page.pdf" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Reimagining the Harbor (link)</a>  </div><div><br></div><div><strong>What are you doing this Labor Day Weekend?  First and foremost, mark your calendars, spread the word and plan to Come to the Baltimore Inner Harbor on Saturday Sept 3rd between 12-8pm</strong> to enjoy, connect, and celebrate at BxB.</div><div><br></div><div>But that’s not all…<strong>We need Volunteers</strong> to help us out during the event too! This month’s BxB line-up will feature amazing local talent, makers, and entrepreneurs brought to us by producer Keith Colston of Native America’s Protectors. This will be the 3rd event in the 6 month festival series and is exactly the kind of creative, inclusive, locally-sourced celebration of homegrown Baltimore talent and culture that we hoped for in <a href="https://peaceworker.umbc.edu/files/2022/05/Reimagining-the-Harbor-as-a-Hub-FINAL-with-blank-page.pdf" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Reimagining the Harbor (link)</a>  </div><div><br></div><div><strong>First and foremost, mark your calendars, spread the word and plan to come down to the Baltimore Inner Harbor on Saturday Aug 6th between 12-8pm</strong> to enjoy, connect, and celebrate at BxB.</div><div><br></div><div>But that’s not all…<strong>We need Volunteers</strong> to help us out during the event too!
