Attention Mechanical, Chemical, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science Majors:

It’s time to start thinking about registration for Fall 2015. All students must meet with an advisor for pre-registration advising. Students will not be able to register for classes if they have not received registration clearance from their advisor.

Transfer students in their first semester at UMBC, regardless of

Group advising appointments require approximately 30 minutes of your time and give you the opportunity to review your registration plans with multiple advisors in a small group setting. Students who attend group advising will be cleared to register during the group advising session. Individual advising appointments require approximately 30 minutes of your time and give you the opportunity to meet with an advisor one-on-one. In general, if you are having academic difficulty or you have a large number of questions, an individual advising appointment is recommended.

If you attend group advising, you may still sign up to meet with an advisor individually to address any additional questions or concerns you may have. However, an individual appointment is not required.

An individual appointment is required for students on academic
