Skills for Success Workshop is a drop-in workshop and provides coping strategies to deal with stress, time management, motivation and anxiety that often interfere with meeting personal, social, and academic goals. This 6-week program includes topics such as procrastination, stress management, time management, test anxiety, motivation/goal-setting, and sleep/get through finals.
You've Got This Group is a 4-week program and intended to help students develop skills and strategies that they need to cope with emotional challenges in their day to day life. Topics include mindfulness, thought as thought, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This program has been shown to increase psychological resilience.
RIO Workshop is a 3-week workshop that aims to give students tools to recognize their concerns and to develop a clearer idea of what they want to change in their life. The R.I.O stands for Recognition, Insight, and Openness. Students will learn ways to incorporate mindfulness in their life.
Hold
Me Tight Workshop is designed help couples learn how to understand their
relationship patterns and improve their conversation skills through
presentations by the workshop leaders, video demonstrations of other couples,
and private exercises and conversations with their partners.
Trans
Support Group is a semester-long, emotional support group for UMBC students who
identify as trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, non-binary, bigender, and/or
those who are questioning their gender identity. This is a student-centered
group to explore gender identity as well as gain support from peers on issues
that may impact trans college students.
