September's Poster-Table First of the Semester! This Tuesday we will be hosting a table at the Wind Tunnel from 10am - 3pm. The topic is hopefully not too controversial, just a poke at politics and some less-serious issues. 

No Thursday meeting this week, they'll resume and never stop starting next week. 
Our other set of weekly meetings will be kicking up next Monday at the Meyerhoff Lecture Hall, from 5pm to whenever we finish the voted-on movie.

In October we intend to have more tables about the upcoming election.

Our weekly meetings will NOT take place in Public Policy 208, because UMBC is an unreliable school when it comes to room reservations.
Instead the Thursday night meetings will be in Public Policy 206, starting at 7pm. Movie nights start whenever the voting on a movie choice has ended (movie choices are at the bottom of this post). We don't have end times to these meetings. 

There will be polls to determine if we should change the meeting time, or if we should add an additional meeting date for every week/every other week. Those polls will be sent out to Discord and GroupMe. A similar poll may take place on myumbc, this is to be determined.

Future plans for guest speakers, on-campus poster tables, events with other clubs, and more will be discussed at tonight's meeting. See you there!

Hey everyone!

With the semester coming to a close, our final meeting will be this Wednesday (12/08) at 7 PM, in Public Policy (PUP) room 208, with the caveat that the location can change depending on safety concerns. This meeting we shall have a guest speaker, Professor Emeritus George La Noue, and a general discussion about free speech on campus! Lastly, we'll close out with a few announcements about Spring 2022's plans and then close out the year at College Republicans.

Welcome back from Thanksgiving break. Our eleventh and penultimate meeting will be this Wednesday (12/01) at 7 PM, in Public Policy (PUP) room 208 as always, with the caveat that the location can change depending on safety concerns. This meeting we shall have our final debate, this time on the death penalty!

Christmas Family Adoption: In collaboration with Students For Life, we encourage all College Republicans to help out with a Christmas Family Adoption sponsored by both clubs. Hey everyone!

We have no meeting this week as the university is closed this Wednesday (we hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!), however we do have some upcoming social outings planned for those who wish to attend!

DePaola's Pub: This Tuesday at 7 PM some of the CR's and even some of UMBC's Rifle and Pistol Club officers will be heading to this pub near campus just to have a great time together and potentially to discuss a joint club outing to the gun range next Spring! This pub has food and is open even to those under 21 — you just can't order drinks if underage. Transportation will be provided at need, just reach out in our GroupMe (see below) to get a ride! Round1 arcade: We now have a date for this event! Friday, December 3rd, some CRs (and potentially Towson CRs if we can entice any) will be heading out to Round1 arcade in Towson, starting at 6 PM. We recommend bringing $50 if you want to do most of everything, including Karaoke, bowling, the arcade itself, and food. If you're concerned about being able to pay, email us as soon as possible and we might be able to help cover your costs. Jury Nullification educational event: We've had to move this event back one week, from December 1st to December 8th, although we now have a time and location for this event: 2 PM-5 PM, tabled in the same place as Change My Mind, in Erickson Field along Center Road. We'll have flyers to give out for this event during our next general body meeting on December 1st, so please come get some then!

T-shirts: No further news at present, but we'll update when we have more info!
