I thought some of you might be available on June 8 and interested
in helping with this local outreach activity. Please contact
Stephanie if you have any questions or would like to volunteer!

Hi Marie,
I'm working on my company's Women in Computing Day this year and we're
trying to double our numbers from last year (going from 20 to 40
girls!). The basic idea has been that we set up stations that girls
ranging from 8-14 will work their way through in small groups. The
stations are manned by a few Next Century employees (I'll actually be
working a station that teaches the girls basic programming using
Scratch) and some other contractors that we've reached out to. We're
looking for volunteers to help facilitate walking the girls from station
to station and making sure everything runs smoothly. I was wondering if
you could pass along the opportunity and my contact information to any
female students you might know either through classes or through the
CWIT program, we're going to be really stretched thin this year. I
believe we're reaching out to the engineering sorority on campus too via
another UMBC alumni as well.
Here's the general information:
Sunday June 8th 11am-3pm
Next Century office in Columbia
7075 Samuel Morse Dr
