This program will place a high achieving undergraduate student in a part-time internship (10 to 15 hours per week) for the spring semester.  A $1,000 stipend will be awarded to the intern. 

The Internship will be with the The Baltimore Community Action Partnership, which is a division of the Mayor's Office of Human Services.  The Community Action Partnership strives to prevent and eliminate poverty while promoting self determination, self-sufficiency and housing opportunities for low-income families. Stemming from a simple dream to “walk across the country and pick up trash,” our youth-led team has formed our own non-profit organization, built a home out of a bus and converted it to run on waste vegetable oil, spoken to over 7,000 students about conservation, coordinated countless community events, built four large environmental art projects, and even been on national news twice!

A group of nearly 40 participants assembled yesterday afternoon at the UMBC 2012 Global Game Jam site. The Global Game Jam is an annual event where small teams design and create computer games over the course of one weekend. The teams will upload their final games to a central site by 3:00pm EST Sunday. Here’s a video stream live from the GAIM lab in 005 ECS.
