Notice to Economics & Financial Economics Students
If you took one of these courses:
ECON 101, ECON 102, ECON 121, ECON 122, ECON 301, ECON 311, ECON 312, ECON 374, MATH 151, MATH 155, STAT 350, STAT 351, STAT 355, STAT 453, CMPE 320
If you took any one of these courses in Spring 2020 for a grade of P and you plan to complete either the Economics B.A. or the Financial Economics B.S., then it is strongly recommended that you RETAKE the course for a letter grade.
If you do not complete this course with a grade of C or better, then you will be at risk of not meeting prerequisites for required upper level courses in these majors and for not meeting ECON and FIEC major graduation requirements.
These courses and their eligibility for the P/F grading method were announced to students on April 7th; that announcement was sent as an email and was posted to the Econ Group site on MyUMBC. It has come to our attention that many students who changed their grading method to a "P" to improve their grade point average were not advised to do so.
Again, this only applies to the classes listed above and to students declared or intending to pursue an Econ B.A. or FIEC B.S. degree.
If you have further questions, please contact your academic advisor.
