Dr. Jiyoon Lee and Dr. Yuko Goto Butler (University of Pennsylvania) have received a grant from the Spencer Foundation through which they will collaborate with Ms. Karyn Brown (MA TESOL '20) of Montgomery Community College. They will research English-to-Speakers-of-Other-Languages (ESOL) teacher training on their Language Assessment Literacy (LAL) enhancement at a community college. LAL of community college teachers continues to be an under-researched area. Through this study, researchers hope to enhance community college teachers' LAL in order to better prepare them to support their students. In this 2-year project, they will develop strategies reflecting learners' perspectives on assessment.
