TESOL's massive open online course (MOOC) on English teaching methodology is now live with 12,944 students enrolled worldwide! UMBC’s TESOL Professional Training Programs (TPTP), in collaboration with FHI 360 and through funding by the U.S. Department of State, is offering the MOOC for non-native English teachers internationally as part of the American English E-Teacher program. Former TPTP director Heidi Faust secured funding, and TESOL instructor Yuliya Schmaltz is leading a team of 21 facilitators from around the world who interact with the MOOC participants. A self-paced, non-facilitated version of the MOOC will be offered in the fall of 2021.
