Witness UMBC’s finest performers as they take the stage at this annual competition. Singers, dancers, comedians, athletes and many more compete to be crowned UMBC’s most talented.Big Prize Poetry SLAM!
6-8 p.m., Performing Arts and Humanities Building Atrium
Slam BIG and Win BIG at the third annual Poetry Slam hosted by the English Department! You won’t want to miss this event! A 1st prize of $200 will go to the winner of this dazzling high-energy slam. 2nd and 3rd prizes, too, for students and alumni sharing their original work, judged by students, alumni, faculty and staff.
Retriever Rally
9 – 10:30 p.m., Retriever Activities Center (RAC)
Pack the RAC and show your Retriever Pride! Tons of freebies, food, t-shirts, games, and the introduction of this year’s basketball teams. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.
Comedy Show Social
5 - 7:30 p.m., Flat Tuesday's, The Commons
Before the laughs begin, come in and meet up with friends in our campus pub. We will have discounted pricing on beverages for comedy show attendees that are 21 and older who come in with their tickets.
Crab Feast
5 – 8 p.m., Commons Terrace
It’s not a party without delicious crabs, great friends, and entertainment. Back by popular demand, this Crab Feast includes an all-you-can-eat buffet including Maryland blue crabs; homemade Maryland crab and cream of crab soups; beef, turkey, and ham carving stations; BBQ chicken, Italian sausage, pulled pork, baked ziti, corn on the cob, potato salad and much more. A cash bar will also be available. Entertainment will be provided byLast to Fire, a Rock/Soul/Funk band comprised of UMBC alums and current students Jason Palumbo ’13, Evan Ponter ’12, Jon Constantinides ’15 and Alex Appelbaum ’15,
Get your tickets by Friday, September 25 for a discounted rate of $40 per person and $20 per child (ages 4-11). After September 25, registration will increase to $45 for adults. At the door (space permitting), tickets will increase to $50 for adults and $25 for children. This event is free for children 4 and under.
