Assalamu Alaykum (Hello) everyone!
We entered the blessed month of Ramadan.
Most of masajid in the area held Taraweeh during last few days, and iftar is following on June 15th for the UMBC community.
The Muslim Student Association (MSA) will be giving Jummah every Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the UMBC Inter-Fraternity Council throughout Ramadan. They will also have mini iftars once a week in Shaa Allah (Shaa Allah is an Arabic expression which translates to "If Allah wills").

These iftars are open to anyone, especially those who do not have families or friends nearby to break their fast with, so please feel free to spread the word.

1. iftar: the meal eaten by Muslims after sunset during Ramadan
2. Jummah: sixth day of the Islamic week = Friday
In Islamic weekdays, the "first day" of the week corresponds with Sunday.
People get together on Friday to attend Islamic praying service
3. masajid: A building used as a place of Muslim worship
4. Ramadan: the 9th month of the Islamic calendar as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief
