Please read the information below for further information about the PNC Scholars/Fellows Program Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 1, 2022 so be sure to apply soon!</span></p>
    <br><p><span>PNC SCHOLARS/FELLOWS PROGRAM</span></p>
    <br><p><span>The PNC Scholars/Fellows Program provides awards up to $2,000 to outstanding UMBC students interested in becoming an entrepreneur. The scholarship will be awarded for the 2022-2023 academic year. The awards will be used as academic scholarships (up to $1,000), or as “seed funding” (up to $2,000) to launch new ventures or community based social entrepreneurship projects.  </span></p>

  <Title>The Spring 2022 CBIC Competition is here!</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><span><p><span>Attention all aspiring entrepreneurs!</span></p>
    <p><span> Do you have an idea for a company or social impact venture? Are you ready to try out something new, take risks, and be your own boss? If you answered yes, then the Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition (CBIC) is the perfect opportunity to do so! CBIC is a competition exclusively for UMBC students that awards up to $5,000 in cash prizes in BOTH the Technology and Innovation track AND the Social Impact track.</span></p>
    <br><h4><span>What is the CBIC?</span></h4>
    <br><p><span>The Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition (CBIC) is a unique opportunity for UMBC graduate and undergraduate students who are serious about starting a business or social impact venture.  Participants will experience the process of planning a startup business by submitting a competitive and realistic 3-5 page business plan, which will be judged by members of the Baltimore Angels (real investors!).  Qualifiers will present their ideas in a final competition, where cash prizes will be given out.</span></p>
    <br><h4><span>Prizes:</span></h4>
    <br><p><span>First Prize= $3,000</span></p>
    <p><span>Second Prize = $2,000</span></p>
    <p><span>Third Prize = $1,000</span></p>
    <br><p><span>Cash prizes are available to the top 3  winners in both the Technology and Innovation track and the Social Impact Track.  </span></p>

    <div class="html-content"><span><p><span>Kayla and Gretta recently presented at the 2021 Changemakers Challenge, and earned a $15,000 investment towards their project, Pennies for Pointe. </span></p>
    <br><p><span>The mission of Pennies for Pointe is to increase the participation of underrepresented populations in dance. Dance improves a person’s mental and physical well-being, social and work skills, and brings communities together.  Unfortunately, safe and effective dance training is expensive and hard to find.  Because of this, it is generally inaccessible to communities of color, lower-income, and other marginalized communities. We are committed to making dance education more accessible, providing necessary supplies and resources for students to train effectively, and exposing youth a part of these communities to the art form.</span></p>
    <br><p><span>The duo stated, “You can’t be what you can’t see,” which is why representation is at the heart of everything we do. More than anything, we hope to create positive life changing impacts for young dancers apart from marginalized communities.</span></p>
