Come to this workshop with Michael Tucker and find out
what investors want to hear when you pitch your business plan to them. Join us
tomorrow in the Commons room 318 on Wednesday, February 22 between 12-1 pm.
This is a great opportunity for students interested in entering the CBIC this
spring!

Based on his experience helping companies raise their first round of capital, Michael
will discuss how best to pitch potential investors. He'll outline the various
traction companies typically need to raise money, who early stage investors
typically are (the importance of knowing your audience), and the necessary
items needed to include in your pitch. He'll also go over example pitch
decks from companies that have successfully raised money.

This talk will be particularly helpful for students interested in entering the
Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition this spring. Michael will
emphasize the key criteria the judges will be evaluating in the
competition. Don't miss this one!!!

Apps Open for Global Student Entrepreneur Comp in Baltimore

<Tagline>Student Entrs. invited to compete in Bmore Chapter Comp</Tagline>

The Baltimore chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO)
will host the state’s first ever Global
Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) competition in January, where selected students will present their businesses and
entrepreneurial practices for the
chance to win cash, mentorship, exposure for business and a chance at the national title.

The first place winner will receive $1,500 and
will move on to the national competition,
all expenses paid, in Kansas City, Missouri on March 6, 2017, for a chance to compete in the global finals
in Frankfurt, Germany. The second
place winner will receive $500 cash and other donations.

“The GSEA competition offers a premium experience
to student entrepreneurs around
the world looking to build their businesses,” said Kathleen Clem, GSEA chair for EO Baltimore. “We’re
thrilled to be opening up a regional
competition to local Baltimore students for this first time in 2017, and thanks to the level of talent
from local universities, we expect
a very competitive event.”

To compete in GSEA, applicants must be actively
enrolled as an undergraduate at a
recognized college or university, and also are primarily responsible for the operation of a
revenue-generating business for at
least six months prior to competition.

The applicants’ businesses must be structured as
for-profit or social enterprise
and must have generated at least $500 in revenue or received $1,000 in investments at the time of application.

Interested students in the Baltimore area can
apply by following the step at http://www.gsea.org/apply.

Originally founded at the John Cook School of
Business at Saint Louis University,
GSEA has been honoring outstanding undergraduate entrepreneurs since 1998, and was adopted by EO in 2006. The program
supports student entrepreneurs and
inspires other students to adopt entrepreneurial endeavors. In addition, the program elevates the
visibility of student business
owners that adhere to high ethical standards and are innovative, profitable and socially responsible.

In less than 20 years, the student program has
become one of the largest and
fastest-growing global competitions in terms of school partners and
student participants.

About GSEA

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is
the premier global competition for
students who own and operate a for-profit and/or social enterprise structured business while attending college
of university. Nominees compete
against their peers from around the world in a series of local and/or national competitions in hopes to qualify
for GSEA Finals. Founded in 1998
by Saint Louis University, GSEA is now an Entrepreneurs’ Organization program.

About Entrepreneurs’ Organization

The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is a global
business network of more than
12,000 business owners in more than 160 chapters and 50 countries. Founded in 1987 by a group of young
entrepreneurs, EO enables small
and large business owners to learn from each other, leading to greater business success and an enriched personal
life. The organization’s vision is
to build the world’s most influential community of entrepreneurs, which aligns with its mission of supporting
entrepreneurial education and engaging entrepreneurs
to learn and grow.
