The Graduate Assistant Advisory Committee was established in compliance with the University System of Maryland's Meet and Confer policy. This policy facilitates formal dialogues between Graduate Assistants (GAs) and university administration, addressing employment matters like compensation and benefits. GAAC serves as a dedicated platform for GAs to express their concerns effectively. We are committed to collaborating with administrators to foster a conducive work environment and implement positive changes benefiting Graduate Assistants.
Our current goals are:
- Improving communication mechanisms between the GAAC and GAs
- Keep free quality health insurance.
- Maintain Meet and Confer dialogs to keep the administration and GA updated on the current issues.
- Editing GA handbook
- Improving the performance review process of GAs
