We encourage faculty and staff to nominate students for UMBC's Grand Challenge Scholars Program. Please complete a separate nomination for each student you wish to recommend. Thank you for your support of the GCSP and of our students!

The ideal nominee is a sophomore (with two years left at UMBC) from any major who demonstrates an awareness of, and commitment to, social consciousness and global awareness.  Students who are earlier or later in their degree path may be considered as well. Students should be academically well prepared to succeed in their major while taking on the additional investment of time that the GCSP requires.  (Generally we ask that applicants should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, though students with slightly lower GPAs will be considered as well.)  

Nominated students will be invited to submit an application.  Your nomination will serve as one of the two required endorsers, so the student will only need to submit the name of one additional endorser.
