Off Campus : Pratt Library,
PROMISE is pleased to promote the movie "Lift Up" by our own Huguens Jean, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
See this new documentary about Haiti, directed by Huguens Jean and Philip Knowlton.
After last year's earthquake, Huguens Jean and his brother Clifford Muse returned to Haiti to honor their grandfather who died a month after the quake. Their film tells the stories of Haitians coping with the aftermath of the quake.

A free public screening will be held in the Wheeler Auditorium of the Central Branch of the Pratt Library on March 27 at 2:00 PM . The event is free, but UMBC's Office of Institutional Advancement highly recommends that attendees arrive early, as these events tend to fill up very quickly. The event will include a Q&A with the filmmakers.
All of the filmmakers are from UMBC. Huguens is a graduate student, his brother Clifford Muse is studying Information Systems, and Philip Knowlton is an alumnus. UMBC wrote an article on the film that can be viewed here: http://www.umbc.edu/window/liftup.html.
Visit the film's website and see the trailer: http://liftupmovie.com/?page_id=176

We are pleased to be able to provide this information.
