All new Teaching Assistants, and all graduate students who are interested in teaching should plan to attend this orientation session.  This session is part of the annual PROF-it (Professors-in-Training) suite of activities offered to graduate students.

·         Welcome, Introduction, Information on the $2000 "Professors in Training" (PROF-it) Opportunities and Teaching Undergraduates Through the "Introduction to an Honors University (IHU)" Program (Renetta Tull, Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Development and Jill Randles, Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education)

·         "Teaching Disciplinary Thinking" (Linda Hodges, Director of the Faculty Development Center)

·         Blackboard Online Technology for Teaching (Karin Readel, Director of Instructional Technology in the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), and Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Systems)

·         Conflict Resolution: What Every TA Needs to Know (Stephanie Lazarus, Human Relations Manager, Office of the General Counsel and Jeff Cullen, Director of Student Judicial Programs)

·         Assisting Students with Disabilities (Cynthia Hill, Associate Provost)

        Panels of experienced TAs and instructors in Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines, and for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields.
