  <Title>Hope Walks Here</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>On April 29th, members of the UMBC community in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, will participate in UMBC's annual Out of the Darkness Campus Walk.</div><div><br></div><div>Each year our community walks to prevent suicide, <a href="https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/statistics/suicide" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">the third leading cause of death among people ages 15-24</a>, and to raise awareness that <em>no one is alone</em>.</div><div><br></div><div>The walk also provides our community with an opportunity to raise funds for Maryland's local AFSP chapter. With funds raised from the walk, AFSP can provide educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.</div><div><br></div><div>There are many reasons to <a href="https://youtu.be/ZPNpK5PE21U" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">walk</a>. At the event, participants will be able to choose to wear a selection of honor beads, recognizing why they personally have joined the walk.
