Congratulations to JULIAN TASH (History and Asian Studies, BA, Dec. 2018)!
Julian is a semi-finalist for a Fulbright fellowship for graduate study in Taiwan, at National Chengchi University.
He is also a finalist for the Blakemore Fellowship which would allow him to study Japanese at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Studies in Yokohama.
And lastly, he was named first runner-up for ASIANetwork’s Marianna McJimsey Award: 2019 Student Paper Competition for his paper “Democracy Suppressed Allied Censorship in Occupied Japan, 1945-52.” His submission was based on his History honors thesis, which was supervised by Professors Vaporis and Oyen.
Good luck to Julian as he embarks on his fellowship interviews and attends the 2019 ASIANetwork Annual Conference at the University of San Diego in April 2019. As part of his award, he will participate in the Student Poster Session at the annual conference.
