Recently, UMBC's Payroll unit became aware of a phishing scam that attempts to redirect employees' funds by altering direct deposit forms. UMBC has not been the subject to this phishing scam; however, in an effort to minimize the risk of having our employees' direct deposit changes compromised, we moved the location of the UMBC Direct Deposit form. The State of Marylad Direct Deposit form is now saved as a Box file only accessible by UMBC employees.
Reminders:
- Human Resources will not ask an employee for their social security number or banking information via email.
- DoIT will not ask an employee for password information.
