Dear Members of the UMBC Community,
Earlier this week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced in a memorandum that it would immediately stop accepting new applications for Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), while protections for existing program participants will be phased out over time.
We recognize that this memorandum may leave community members with some uncertainty over its impact and what may happen next. To answer some of those questions, The Mosaic: Center for Culture and Diversity will be hosting a DACA information session on Monday, September 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the Commons Skylight room. Light refreshments will be served.
All students, staff, and faculty are welcome to come in with any questions they may have. Personal questions involving the implications and impact of the memorandum will be addressed individually at the end of the session.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact The Mosaic, mosaic@umbc.edu.
