We have been notified by the State Department of Budget and Management’s Employee Benefits Division of several key updates applicable to employees who have benefits through the State of Maryland. This update does not affect graduate assistants.
SPS Workday for Benefits
The state went live with SPS Workday on January 1, 2019. At this time, only new hires and employees with a qualifying event or change in eligibility should log into the system. All other employees will have the opportunity to use the system during open enrollment in fall 2019. More information on how to log into SPS Workday can be found here.
As a reminder, emails from stateofmaryland@myworkday.com are NOT Spam and are associated with the SPS Workday system.
1095-C Tax Statements
Employees will receive their 1095-C tax statements on or around March 2, 2019. However, you do not need to wait until you have received this form to file your taxes. For more information, please see our health insurance tax forms FAQ.
Premium Deduction Holidays for 2019
There will be no deductions for medical, prescription, dental, FSAs, and MetLife benefits on the paychecks of April 5, 2019 and September 6, 2019.
