UMBC will experience a planned campus-wide power outage from 11 p.m., Saturday, September 28 until 7 a.m., Sunday, September 29. Baltimore Gas and Electric will be conducting a scheduled power outage in order to proactively perform urgent repairs to its electrical distribution system. The only building on campus not impacted by this outage is the Technology Research Center.
In preparation for this planned outage, we have adjusted the hours of operation on Saturday for several dining locations on campus:

- Salsarita's in the Commons will close at 10 p.m.
- Outtakes at True Grits will close at 10 p.m., reopening at 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
- True Grits Late Night Dining will not be available on Saturday.
- All other food venues will open at their normal times on Sunday.
Prior to leaving for the weekend, faculty and staff are asked to turn off all office equipment, such as computers and printers, and research equipment, as appropriate.
