Dear Members of the UMBC Community,
We continue to make significant progress in our strategic enrollment planning efforts.
The first phase of our planning focused primarily on research related to UMBC’s undergraduate students and included review and assessment of enrollment and student success outcomes.
Our efforts in the planning process then shifted to focus on a current state assessment of graduate enrollment. This included a review of enrollment trends across all master’s, doctoral and post-baccalaureate certificate programs, as well as a review of labor market demand trends. Additionally, we conducted a number of interviews and focus groups with graduate program directors, department chairs, and staff to gather their perspective of opportunity areas related to graduate enrollment at UMBC.
As a next step, we will build off the findings and themes from the first two phases to develop and draft the full Strategic Enrollment Plan, complete with priorities, initiatives, and goals to measure our progress over the life of the Plan. The draft plan will be shared with the community broadly for additional feedback prior to finalizing.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our campus community for their continued support and engagement in this important work. If you would like to learn more about these and other related strategic enrollment planning activities and updates, we encourage you to visit our Strategic Enrollment Planning website.
