Campus Status: The University is open, with employees working remotely. UMBC’s physical campus remains closed. Maryland is currently under a Safer at Home Order. However, restrictions remain in Baltimore and Montgomery counties.

- The Counseling Center is hosting an online resilience-building webinar on Wednesday, May 27, from 2 to 3 p.m.
- The Stay Black and Gold Emergency Fund is accepting applications.
Academic Continuity
- The Office of the Vice President for Research is hosting a third Research Town Hall on Friday May 29 at 9am. Topics include the framework for relaunching research and creative achievement at UMBC.
- The Provost has issued revised guidance on applied learning experiences. Summer experiences should be held remotely. Students and supervisors who wish to pursue in-person experiences must apply through the exception process.
- The Academic Success Center has developed an Online Learning Resources Module with content and activities to help students prepare for success in online classes.
- UMBC leadership provided additional information on UMBC’s planning process for the fall semester.
Business Continuity and Staff Support
- UMBC’s EAP Program is hosting a webinar: Managing Worry & Anxiety Amid COVID-19. You can view the full webinar series in the myUMBC training group.
- As a reminder, performance evaluations should be submitted by supervisors through the PMP DocuSign process, no later than Friday, June 5. Additional details and resources can be found here.
Facilities
- The campus remains accessible for emergency access only. This includes employees with a letter from their supervisor, researchers approved through the Access Exception process, and/or students that are approved for late stay.
