Mike and I hope everyone and their families are safe at home during this trying time. Although all on campus Spring Intramurals are canceled for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester, we would like to offer some eSports from the comfort of your own home.
Right now we are thinking that we will continue the FIFA Champions League, as well as adding an online Connected Franchise League for Madden. If you are interested in participating please send me an email with your Name, Console Platform, Gamertag, & which sport (or both) you would like to play in. We will likely have to do separate brackets for PS4 and Xbox seeing as only Fortnite, and Call of Duty are cross platform as of now that I know of.
FIFA will operate pretty much the same way it has for our previous FIFA Champions Leagues.
For Madden it will be an online connected franchise with people controlling teams throughout the league. We will do 1 week of the season per day, for example, if the league started 4/8/2020 all week 1 games would need to be played before 10am on April 9th, at that point the league would be simmed to the next week. I will make a contact sheet with emails of all team owners so players can individually set up their game times for that day via email. The nice thing about this is Madden will cover all standings and stats, we just have to play.
