Work request
Please submit a work request form located on KPIF website.
A KPIF staff member will respond to coordinate the sample rop-off and imaging times.
Sample drop-off (UMBC users)
Samples should be dropped off outside of the respective KPIF location.
All building are locked at this time. You will need to have a key for Biology/Physics and swipe card access to the ILSB
You will need to log your time in/out with the Physics department. The links to the log sheet will be shared upon request
If you do not have a key/swipe card access for a particular building, please let us know.
Biological Sciences (Rm 079): Small refrigerator outside the main door.
Physics (Rm 305): All SEM samples should be placed in the receptacle outside the double-doors. We will not be accepting samples for AFM at this time.
ILSB (Rm 324):Small refrigerator outside the door in the lounge.
If your sample is not time sensitive, staff will wait 24-48 hours before retrieving the sample for decontamination.
Your samples will be disposed of after imaging.
Sample Drop-off (External users)
Please contact us to facilitate sample submission.
Data collection
Staff will reserve time on the instrument calendar for imaging and send a video conferencing invitation, if requested.
Staff will upload data to a shared Google Drive or Box folder.
