Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the incumbent performs moderately complex accounting clerical or bookkeeping tasks to support accounts payable/receivable and auditing function. Post journal entries, process payments, and verifies accuracy of data.
Specific duties include: inputting data, records and verifies details of financial transactions in ledgers and automated systems; review and process financial documents such as invoices and receipts; purchase of all supply request and receiving of Goods and Services for the Library; inputting and retrieving financial transactions into a shadow system (QuickBooks) for monthly reconciliation and other reports; retrieve and process order from the Accounting and Receiving RT system; back up to the Accounting Associate with picking up paychecks and writing receipts for departments with the Library; and perform other duties as assigned, including serving as back for other staff in the department.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year accounting clerical experience.
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, mathematical methods and techniques.
- Skilled in performing basic mathematical computations and the use of calculator.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to operate keyboards, personal computers and financial software
- Ability to prepare written records and reports
- Ability to input data accurately
- Basic Knowledge of QuickBooks
- Strong computer skills with excel, word, Google docs and Box
