Please make sure to follow their <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/health" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">myUMBC group </a>and join their community.<div><br></div><div>Services provided include:</div><div><br></div><div><ol><li>Executive Functioning Workshop Series - Work on developing skills to overcome barriers to success, including time management, task prioritization/implementation, motivation, and self-accountability. </li><li>Anxiety Toolbox Series - 3 workshops designed to help people learn about anxiety and some basic skills to help identify and manage anxious thoughts and behaviors.</li><li>BRIDGE (Building Relationship Intimacy and Dialogue Effectiveness) - the series focuses on identifying ways to foster healthy relationships via self-monitoring, effective communication, and conflict resolution skills. The sessions include modules dedicated to help you: (1) better understand your values and boundaries in relationships, (2) learn the role of culture in communication, different styles of communication, and strategies for effective communication, and (3) identify common causes of conflict and effective conflict management techniques. </li><li>Mindfulness - Mindfulness is a state of nonjudgmental awareness of what is happening in the present moment, including the awareness of one's own thoughts, feelings, and senses. The ability to be mindful can reduce symptoms of depression, improve memory, enhance relationships, and improve your ability to manage emotions. During this workshop, you will learn the benefits of mindfulness practices and be guided through various exercises.</li><li>Graduate Student Support Group (Virtual, Spring Semester) Starting February 22, need to have a previous consult!     <div class="html-content"><p><strong>Applications for the Spring '24 MLE Cohort can be found <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScRf1jYuZb-4r6pHuwFRl1uDsv70D7t7-UeaQGyQTBG_sZLLA/viewform?usp=sf_link" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">HERE</a>. </strong></p><p><strong>The Multicultural Leadership Experience (MLE) is a collaboration between Campus Life and Initiatives for Identity Inclusion &amp; Belonging (i3B), that seeks to: </strong></p><p><strong>Engage participants in a multicultural development and leadership learning program; <br>Enhance participants' understanding of their social identities, leader identity, as well as their capacity to lead; <br>And enable participants' development through authenticity, self-awareness, relationships, and capitalizing on difference. </strong></p><div><strong><br></strong></div><div><span><div>The sessions are as follows:<div> </div></div><div><div>- Meeting #1: Monday, February 12th, 3pm - 4:30pm</div><div>- Meeting #2: Monday, February 19th, 3pm - 4:30pm</div><div>- Meeting #3: Monday, March 4th, 3pm - 4:30pm</div><div>- Meeting #4: Monday, March 25th, 3pm - 4:30pm</div><div>- Meeting #5: Monday, April 8th, 3pm - 4:30pm</div><div>- Meeting #6: Monday, April 22nd, 3pm - 4:30pm </div><div>- Meeting #7: Monday, May 6th, 3pm - 5:30pm</div></div><div> </div><div><span>***All sessions will take place in The Commons (room location will be specified in a Google calendar invite)***</span></div><div><br></div><div><div>Participants will be exploring the concept of Authentic Leadership, Legacy Building, and Breaking Barriers of White Supremacy within Leadership. We will do this in a leadership learning cohort by: </div><ul><li>Enhancing participants' leader identity and leadership capacity using an identity-conscious lens and student development theories;</li><li>Increasing participants' awareness of their personal abilities, identity development, and intersections that shape their story through authenticity, self-reflection, and cultural humility;</li><li>Exploring the role they play in developing relationships while building intra/intercultural connections; </li><li>And capitalizing on their differences, specifically in relation to their racial, ethnic, national, and other salient identity social groups</li></ul><div> </div><div>The purpose of all MLE programs is to provide a space for students and student leaders who identify within diverse or marginalized backgrounds to discover their own capacity to lead, while also promoting a better understanding of their experiences, issues, strengths, and outcomes in navigating their own collegiate careers.     <Title>International Research Experience Summer 2024</Title>

          <div class="html-content"><div><strong>Bioinspired Autonomy in Natural Environments</strong></div><div><br></div><div>Over 10 positions open for this summer program. It's a 13-week program for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) graduate students and PhD candidates, <strong>US residents and citizens only</strong>, starting May, 20, 2024, fully covered financially ($5,000 fellowship + all other costs).</div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Application package:  CV, statement of interest, unofficial transcript, 2 reference letters.</span></div><div><br></div><div>The IRES scholars will study autonomous mobility in natural environments based on flying rainforest animals with the help of an interdisciplinary mentor network located in South Korea, Singapore, and Brunei. Students will get an opportunity throughout the program to participate in professional development opportunities.
