Dr. Carlos Romero-Talamás, Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in Mechanical Engineering, has been elected to serve as a member of the Executive Committee of the University Fusion Association (UFA).
The UFA is a non-profit organization of faculty and students from US universities focused on the long-term development of a new, environmentally attractive energy source based on controlled thermonuclear fusion energy.
The announcement was made at this year's UFA meeting, held as part of the 62nd Annual Division of Plasma Physics Meeting of the American Physical Society. Dr. Romero-Talamás will serve in the Executive Committee until November 2023.
