    <p><span>Our</span><span> annual Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition (CBIC) is quickly approaching, and with almost a month to go before the application deadline, we'd like to urge you to start applying as soon as possible.</span></p>
    <p><span>The deadline for applications is <strong>March 8, 2017 at 5 pm</strong> sharp. </span></p>
    <p><span>The CBIC is designed for entrepreneurial students attending UMBC who know they want to start a company, or perhaps already have, and are seeking funding. This competition was designed for you! If you’re ready to start living your dream, click below to start applying today! </span></p>

    <p><strong><span>Why Participate?</span></strong><span><br>The CIBC will give you "real world" experience.  You'll be paired with a business mentor and you'll get helpful feedback and guidance.  You'll also get connected to the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.</span></p>

    <p><span><span>Students will learn about digital fabrication and
    entrepreneurship. The</span> <span>course
    focuses on 3D printing, an innovative technology that support </span></span><span><span>creativity, rapid
    prototyping, and personal-scale manufacturing. </span></span><span>Students</span><span> <span>will learn
    introductory 3D modeling, 3D printing, and financial concepts</span></span> <span>including
    service models, retail sales, and e-commerce considerations.</span><span> <span>Students enrolled in
    this course will leverage their skills providing 3D</span></span><span> </span><span>printing
    and design services to the campus, in addition to exploring other</span><span> <span>applications of 3D
    printing in prototyping and entrepreneurial ventures.</span></span></p>

    <span>This course is offered in cooperation with the
    Shriver Center’s SUCCESS</span> <span>program,
    an integrated four-year certificate for students with intellectual</span></span> <span>disabilities.
    Undergraduate students will work alongside SUCCESS students</span><span> <span>learning about 3D
    printing technology and how it can be used to </span></span><span>produce,
    and market printed objects. In leveraging an integrated classroom</span><span> <span>environment, this
    course will also teach students concepts of social </span></span><span>entrepreneurship
    with a special focus on employment and community support</span><span> <span>for people with
    diverse abilities.</span></span></p>

    <br><span>University and college students will be placed in the offices of members </span><span>of Congress in the Senate and in the House of Representatives with a high </span><span>level of involvement in startups, tech transfer and/or entrepreneurship, </span><span>at the pleasure of the office. Before beginning at Congress, interns </span><span>admitted into the Program will also participate in a one-week Silicon </span><span>Valley immersion to experience startup culture from entrepreneurs, angel </span><span>investors, venture capitalists, startup companies and corporations in the </span><span>valley.</span><br><br><span><u>Eligibility:</u></span><br><br><span>Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree </span><span>program and have at least one year remaining in their degree program after </span><span>completion of the internship. This program is purposely designed to appeal </span><span>to, and will benefit from, students in all fields, backgrounds, interests </span><span>and disciplines, who have the ability to be outstanding leaders for </span><span>entrepreneurship and startup culture in public, private or academic </span><span>settings. International students enrolled in American universities and </span><span>colleges are welcome to apply, but need to be proficient to a high degree </span><span>in written and spoken English and meet specific Congressional ethics rules </span><span>that pertain to international student interns.</span>
