    <Title>Winter Session Laptop Information</Title>

          <div class="html-content">During the winter session 2023, our laptops will be re-imaged and updated for the spring 2023 semester. All laptops currently checked out will be <strong>due on Thursday, December 22</strong>. <br><div><br></div><ol><li>Chromebooks and Dells will be available when we return from winter break on <strong>January 3, 2023</strong>. We expect the Macbooks to be available again in mid-January. </li><li>The Dells will be unavailable for checkout the last few weeks of January to be sent for their updates.</li><li>All laptops will be available to check out on the first day of the spring semester, January 30, 2023.</li></ol></div>

    <div class="html-content"><span><p><span>Greetings Storytellers, Facilitators, and Listeners!</span></p><br><p><span>Welcome to the 11th International Digital Storytelling Conference, June 20-23, 2023.  Our conference is part of a multi-institutional, multinational, three-year process, organized by </span><a href="https://www.lboro.ac.uk/?external" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Loughborough University </span></a><span>(UK),</span><a href="https://www.storycenter.org/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"></a><a href="https://www.montgomerycollege.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Montgomery College</span></a><span> (US),</span><a href="https://www.patientvoices.org.uk/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span> Patient Voices</span></a><span> (UK), </span><a href="https://learninglab.si.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Smithsonian Office of Educational Technology</span></a><span> (US), </span><a href="https://www.storycenter.org/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>StoryCenter</span></a><span> (US) and the </span><a href="https://www.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>University of Maryland, Baltimore County</span></a><span> (US).</span></p><br><p><span>After an inspiring conference in Loughborough last summer, we are excited to share with you the preliminary details of our upcoming summer conference in Baltimore/Washington (USA) co-hosted by Montgomery College (MC), the Smithsonian Institution, StoryCenter and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). </span></p><br><p><span>Proposals are currently being accepted for the conference, </span><span>Radical Listening: Stories for a Just Future. </span><span>As a way to foreground collaboration and partnership, the conference will include community visits in Baltimore, museum experiences in Washington, and conference presentations. To make it easy to move between conference spaces, bus transportation will be provided. </span></p><br><p><span>Day 1: UMBC campus; followed by optional Baltimore site visits (limited seating) and workshop sessions</span></p><p><span>Day 2: Montgomery College campus; concurrent sessions</span></p><p><span>Day 3: Smithsonian Institution; Washington, DC</span></p><p><span>Day 4: Virtual Day; led by StoryCenter</span></p><br><p><span>For our Virtual Day, we welcome groups to submit panels collaboratively and are open to pre-recorded panels with live discussion, particularly to enable inclusive participation.  MC will host a physical space for those attending the conference in person and who wish to attend the Virtual Day alongside other conference goers.</span></p><br><p><span>We strongly recommend staying at the conveniently located Marriott in Silver Spring, Maryland, down the street from MC campus, on the border with Washington, DC, and on the DC metro line. This position assists the registrar in the overall physical care and preservation of the collection. The collection technician is a key member of the collections team, supporting select activities and initiatives of the Office of Cultural Properties and University Museums providing direct assistance with preventive maintenance and conservation techniques. Under general supervision, this position accomplishes tasks independently, informing supervisor of any concerns, progress, and problems. The position works with the cultural property holdings of Homewood Museum, Evergreen Museum &amp; Library, and University Campus Collection, which includes objects located on campuses of Homewood and Peabody Institute. The collection includes over 18,000 objects and is used in teaching, research, and exhibition by students, faculty, staff, and scholars across various disciplines.</span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><strong><span>Specific Duties &amp; Responsibilities</span></strong><span></span></p><ul><li><span>Contribute to the preservation of collections and ongoing maintenance of exhibition and storage spaces, object cleaning, custom housing, environmental monitoring, object examination and reporting, and minor treatments such as polishing silver.</span></li><li><span>Develop a digital condition reporting system, generate technical reports on the condition of select objects, and update object records accordingly in the collection management database.</span></li><li><span>Assist in identifying collection care priorities and planning project workflows in collaboration with the registrar and the curator.
