The H. Furlong Baldwin Library at the Maryland Center for History and Culture (MCHC) is offering a 15-week, paid oral history internship. The internship can be completed either remotely or in a hybrid format. The intern will gain a thorough understanding of the oral history life cycle, along with experience using the archival management system ArchivesSpace and digital asset management system (DAMS) ResourceSpace. The MCHC is a recent beneficiary of the Recordings at Risk grant, through which over 300 oral history tapes are being digitized and preserved.

The ASALA Teaching Artist Job Description:
The After School Arts & Learning Academy (ASALA) teaching artist is the heart and soul of the academy.
Teaching artists are paired with a grade level teacher for the entire program. These pairs are responsible for
delivering engaging, meaningful, and joyful instruction both in and through the arts. Artists teaching are

The After School Arts & Learning Academy (ASALA) Site Director promotes and supports the overall vision and mission of ASALA. The Site Director is expected to be responsible for all aspects of the program and its operations and to provide leadership and oversight of the site which includes, but is not limited to, overseeing student engagement and achievement, daily attendance, climate and culture, scheduling, building and staff supervision, all health and safety protocols and emergency procedures.

About ASALA:

The After School Arts & Learning Academy (ASALA) Site Support position is pivotal to the success of the program. Site Support will be assigned a site and will be responsible for all subbing needs at that site. On days that a sub is not needed, the site support will look for other ways to ensure that the site runs smoothly. This could include supporting staff, working with the directors, planning family involvement events, etc. Site Support must be flexible as this position requires them to sub for both teachers and artists, as well as jump into new roles.
