We’re pleased to announce that UMBC faculty can now import publications from ORCID into Digital Measures (DM)! 

ORCID is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting research and researchers. ORCID provides persistent digital identifiers that researchers own and control for sharing information with other systems, ensuring proper attribution and recognition for scholarly output, and saving time and hassle. Over 1,000 organizations, many of them universities and research institutions, participate as consortial members in ORCID. 

This new integration with Digital Measures (DM) was made possible as part of UMBC’s ORCID membership which took effect on March 1, 2021. UMBC faculty members updating the Intellectual Contributions section of their DM profiles can now select ORCID from the list of third party services offering imported citations. We know faculty maintain records in many online systems and we’re pleased to be able to provide this as an option for saving time.

Please note that UMBC does not require the creation of an ORCID account nor connection with DM for those who already have ORCID accounts and prefer to keep them separate. For those interested in learning more about ORCID before getting started, the library website and ORCID’s own website contain a wealth of information on features, privacy, security, and researcher control over data. 

Reporting to, and in collaboration with, the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Senior Communications Specialist will develop and implement communications and media relations initiatives and campaigns to engage Peabody’s different audiences and advance the Institute’s goals.

The Concert Operations Department seeks a Concert Series Coordinator who will work under the general direction of, and in collaboration with the Concert Office Manager. This role is responsible for the overall daily management of the Concert Office, meets with and advises all degree recital students regarding performance requirements and standards. They will establish and maintain overall office organization, systems and procedures for the Concert Office. Peabody has 6 concert halls with @ 800 + productions during the school year and 200-250 recitals a year.

General summary/purpose:

Reporting directly to the Associate Dean for External Relations, this position manages administrative functions for the Development and Alumni Relations team in the Office of External Relations. In addition, this position will support major and annual giving with gift processing, stewardship touchpoints, and special events. The development coordinator will apply skills and knowledge to support a broad array of critical projects and tasks.

Specific duties & responsibilities:

The Maryland Center for History and Culture (MCHC) is seeking a part-time Education Programs and Volunteer Coordinator to provide administrative support to the Education Department, deliver exceptional customer service to our patrons, and lead guided programs for students and adults as necessary. The employee will assist full-time staff with program development and facilitation, while gaining knowledge of how a museum education department operates, and will be able to apply the skills learned to future professional goals.

Position Summary:

Baltimore Center Stage seeks a strategic, collaborative leader for the position of Chief Resource Officer. The Chief Resource Officer reports directly to the Artistic Director and works closely with senior department heads as well as other key stakeholders. This position will help lead the conversation around and about institutional issues that have theater-wide impact, share in the leadership of Baltimore Center Stage, and hold responsibility for the management of institutional fiscal resources. This position participates in the weekly department heads meeting and will collaborate enthusiastically with a team of dedicated peers throughout the organization.

Port Discovery Children’s Museum, one of the top Children’s Museum in the United States and a top cultural institution in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, is seeking a customer service-oriented individual to join our Guest Services team as a Guest Services Supervisor. The Supervisor assists in the daily operations of the Museum with a special focus on daily Guest Services operations, Museum Experience Associate (MEA) training and support, delivery of a welcoming, engaging, and safe experience for all visitors, as well as Museum security.
