Baltimore Center Stage invites applications for the position of ARTISTIC PRODUCING ASSOCIATE, COMPANY MANAGEMENT (APA), to join a dynamic (and often hilarious artistic team). The APA reports to the Director of Artistic Producing and works closely with the Artistic Producing Manager and the rest of the artistic and production departments. This position is envisioned as an entry point to artistic producing. A key member of the artistic team, the APA drives the artist services and company management function of the organization.

The Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program is back, and better than ever! This program is provided by Markus Proctor, a generous UMBC alumni entrepreneur, and it is a competitive opportunity that allows students to experience entrepreneurship with funding until graduation. For 20201, they are looking to admit ambitious, high- achieving students who want to make a difference in their communities and fields. Selected students will be provided $500 in tuition assistance and $1,000 in seed capital every semester they remain active in the program.

After taking a broad look at the state’s innovation community, Pava will go over how to find resources that meet the needs of your venture and the best practices for crafting a competitive application.

Pava LaPere is an entrepreneur focused on building a more equitable and
accessible entrepreneurial ecosystem. After founding a nonprofit to set up
the innovation community at Johns Hopkins, including the first official
university Accelerator programs, Pava started Innov8MD in order to support
student entrepreneurs across the state, regardless of their background. In
her day job, Pava is the CEO & Founder of EcoMap Technologies, a
Baltimore-based company that uses AI to help entrepreneurs find resources
for their startups, small businesses and nonprofits within their local
Communities.

University of Maryland is offering a 2- credit course online this Spring to UMBC students! The name of the class is IDEA 430: Creating the Venture. This class is taught by National Entrepreneur Educator of the year and 6 year co-director Georgetown University
incubator, Marc Steren. It will be offered Fridays 11am- 12:30pm, and students will have the chance to compete for a $7,000 cash prize.
If you are interested in this opportunity, UMBC students will receive credit, however, you first need approval from your academic advisor. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity!
