JOB SUMMARY

Manage day-to-day operations of the orchestra with presence at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, MD, and the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD. Ensure that all concerts/events transition seamlessly from rehearsals at JMSH to Strathmore

Having strong negotiation skills for an entrepreneur can be crucial when it comes to having success in their business. Entrepreneurs will not succeed in starting and growing their business if they don’t negotiate for what they want. By developing skills in negotiation, you will become more confident at identifying what you want and how to get it. Being good at negotiating; however, is a skill that takes time and practice. The uniqueness of each person, bundled with their priorities, behavioral styles, and emotions can influence the strategy and tactics you use to achieve success.

About the Event

In this workshop, you will learn:

• How to get better results in both formal and informal negotiations by building positive, productive relationships.
• How to use critical thinking skills to assess and challenge assumptions.
• The key tenants of influence and how to use them effectively.
• To recognize when it is best to disengage from the negotiation.

Maryland Art Place (MAP) is seeking artists for “UNDER $500”,our upcoming winter benefit exhibition. On Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14, 2019, this two-day event will promote the sale of artwork by artists in the Maryland region.

MAP offers internships for upper level college students, graduate students and recent graduates. Fall, Spring and Summer Internships available. MAP hours: 11 am-4 pm, Tuesday-Saturday.

Interns are responsible for assisting MAP in a variety of ways, ranging from programming to administration, with opportunities for special projects depending on skills and professional interest. Intern duties include: performing research; assisting with gallery preparation and installation; photo/video documentation, coordinating events, gallery sitting, social media and community outreach.

PNC SCHOLARS/FELLOWS PROGRAM

The PNC Scholars/Fellows Program provides awards up to $2,000 to outstanding UMBC students interested in becoming an entrepreneur. The scholarship will be awarded for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. The awards will be used as academic scholarships (up to $1,000), or as “seed funding” (up to $2,000) to launch new ventures or community based social entrepreneurship projects.  

CRITERIA:

• Submit a 1-2 page of a personal statement about their interest in entrepreneurship.  The statement should:

• Describe the impact an academic scholarship will have on their future as an entrepreneur or social innovator or

• Describe how the award money will be used as “seed funding” to launch a new venture, or “seed funding” to launch a community based social entrepreneurship project.  Submit a preliminary budget outlining anticipated expenses.

• Submit an updated resume

• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0

The Manager of Gallery Learning is responsible for Identifying, training, scheduling and evaluating gallery teachers, specifically the volunteer docents(approximately 70), part-time educators(8) and museum associate(1). S/he identifies program and training needs and employs best practices in adult learning to support these educators in their gallery teaching. S/he reports to the Director of Education.
