The Baltimore Museum of Art seeks a full-time Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) responsible for the planning, management, and success of the comprehensive fundraising efforts of the Museum. The Chief Advancement Officer will join the BMA at a time of exciting transformation.

The Director of Grants and Sponsorships directs the BMA’s efforts to secure funding from all sources for a broad range of special projects and sponsorships, including but not limited to exhibitions, education initiatives, conservation activities, and capital projects. This position also supervises the Assistant Director, Grants & Sponsorships, who is responsible for meeting the corporate and foundation Annual Fund goals and stewarding corporate and foundation donors.

The Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) manages the 32,000 square foot Howard County Center for the Arts, a multi-disciplinary arts center in Ellicott City.

A message from Patrick Dawson director of the Albin O. Kuhn Library and Gallery

We are delighted in the Albin O. Kuhn Library and Gallery to announce the appointment of two new associate directors for the library.  Timothy Hackman comes to UMBC from UMD College Park where he had worked in the McKeldin library for over 20 years in roles of increasing responsibility.  He is Associate Director and Head of Public Services for the AOK Library & Gallery.

Carolyn Sheffield is currently Associate Director and Head of Library Technology and Digital Initiatives.  Carolyn comes to UMBC from the Smithsonian Libraries, a library system comprising 20 branch libraries serving the various Smithsonian Institution museums and research centers.

We are very pleased to have these two as part of UMBC’s Library and Gallery, both started on 4 March 2019.

About Young Audiences of Maryland (YA)

We are hiring talented musicians between the ages of 14 and 21 to perform in the onstage orchestra of our original musical, Voices of Carmen!

Parts still open for violin, trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet, saxophone, and drum set players. The score has an exciting range of classical music from Bizet's Carmen to original contemporary tracks. This opportunity is for local youth to rehearse and perform this summer. as well as to gain job readiness, technical skills, and connections for success in their careers!

Project Timeline:

The Interpretation and Outreach Manager (IOM) is the Baltimore National Heritage Area’s (BNHA) main liaison to its cultural and heritage partners. The IOM works with these partners and BNHA staff to plan, create, and execute programs and events that engage visitors, residents and Baltimore City Public School students in the primary interpretive themes stated in the Baltimore National Heritage Area 2012 Comprehensive Management Plan.
