The Show:

SCT is thrilled to be producing Samsara as part of its 10th season. Written by Lauren Yee, this story of an American couple's journey through surrogacy is set in California and Ahmedabad, India. It is a fun, funny, and poignant look at the lengths people will go for what they want and the unexpected ways they may be changed. The show will rehearse from mid-November 2016 to mid-January 2017. The show will run for approximately one month, from mid-January to mid-February.

The Maryland Film Festival is back for its 18th year and applications for volunteering are now open! Below is a description of some of the regular volunteer positions currently available at the festival:

1. Don't waste a lot of time and money on something no one wants

4. "You promised me Mars colonies and instead you gave me Facebook"  
4. Do not fool yourself because you are the easiest person to fool
1. Most of us hear what we want to hear
5. Don't spend your time on your business plan

2. Projections are virtually useless for start-ups 
1. For a start-up knowing anything past the first 3 months is usually a stretch

1. If you have just a product idea but want to create a start-up, you need to expand the product to be a long lasting business (most businesses don't sell ONE thing)

More than a year ago, UMBC student Eliot L Carney-Seim began developing DETHRONED, an original card game designed to fill in gaps he felt were in today's growing tabletop market. Today, his game is now on Kickstarter.com and has already gained almost $7000 since it launched less than 2 days ago.

Preparing for a good kickstarter was a process that involved a great deal of UMBC students and even alumni. Though on virtually no budget and several team members graduating this very same semester, DETHRONED is among 77 out of 583 games currently on Kickstarter that received a "Projects We Love" tag from Kickstarter.com staff.

Description of the Fellowship:

Single Carrot Theatre’s fellowship program is designed to provide hands on experience to emerging theater artists, as well as an opportunity to have a working understanding of Baltimore’s premier ensemble theatre. The fellowship is a season long program that includes administrative and artistic responsibilities. Single Carrot is dedicated to the growth of artists, and the fellowship has been created to introduce emerging theatre artists and administrators to the exciting and demanding world of ensemble theatre.

Concepts By Cash, is seeking a theater arts teacher to work with elementary school age students in an after school program in East Baltimore. We are currently looking for a teacher with a minimum of 3 years experience teaching this age group and have excellent classroom managment skills. Teacher will work 2-4 days per week, and after some delays, the program will begin Monday April 4, 2016 right after Spring Break.

The Registry Coordinator and Program Assistant is responsible for: administering, coordinating and implementing the Maryland State Arts Council Maryland Artists Registry. In addition, this position assists the Director and MAP’s Program Advisory Committee on all program initiatives.
